Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Covenant House New York, a homeless shelter for youth, seeks full-time/part-time Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with our Mental Health Day Program.

The responsibilities of the Board Certified Psychiatrist include psychiatric screenings, completing written psychiatric evaluations for housing applications and medication management. Applicants will work closely with the staff of the Mental Health Day Program to ensure appropriate treatment goals and expedite housing placement.

CHNY is seeking candidates who are comfortable working with adolescents, are well organized, and able to manage their time effectively. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Resident Advisor

The Resident Advisor will ensure that immediate needs are met and will provide counseling and concrete services to runaway, homeless and at-risk adolescents within a residential and long-term transitional program.

This position requires a B.A. degree; good verbal and written communication skills; flexibility; counseling and advocacy skills; and experience working with at-risk youth. 

Applicants must be able to work a rotating schedule including weekends, overnights and holidays.  

Bilingual, Spanish speaking desirable.

Must have a valid New York State License and be comfortable driving a seven passenger van.
