May 9, 2007 -- Spring Job Fair

The response to the Regional Training Center’s Spring Job Fair was remarkable! The event was originally scheduled to be held at the Regional Training Center, but due to a record number of clients and employers it was moved to the downstairs gymnasium. The gymnasium was filled throughout the day with 99 Covenant House clients coming from every Community Resource Center and as well as the Crisis Center and the Rights of Passage program. All clients in attendance were able to speak with and present resumes to a wide array of employers ranging from the United States Coast Guard to Defender Security to Utopia Home Care and The Police Athletic League. Many clients benefited from on the spot interviews which led to on the spot employment. In addition to the clients who were interviewed and hired, the Regional Training Center was able to make valuable contacts with all of the companies at the Job Fair. These contacts will be valuable as the Regional Training Center continues to search for the best possible jobs for our clients. The Regional Training Center is very excited about the success of this Job Fair and plans to build upon its success. The Regional Training Center would like to thank all who attended the Spring Job Fair and looks forward to the continuation of our working relationship in hopes of best serving the clients of Covenant House.
