November 23, 2006 -- Covenant House New York’s Community Thanksgiving Party
Thanksgiving is time to gather together, be thankful all that life has to offer, and cherish the moments that have brought happiness in the lives of many. Just last week, Covenant House New York’s Bronx Community Program invited all Covenant House staff, its young people, and the local community to spend an afternoon celebrating the holiday. Thanks to the generosity of a local community center, Covenant House was able to invite more than 75 people in join in the festivities. Local restaurants, close to the center, donated delicious dishes made specifically for the Thanksgiving celebration. Bruce J. Henry, Executive Director of Covenant House New York, attended the party and had an opportunity to shed some light of the meaning of Thanksgiving at Covenant House. “Each year we have the ability to get together and spend time enjoying each other’s company. I especially enjoy the holiday season because it allows me to visit all Covenant House sites and witness the accomplishments of so many of our young people. To everyone joining us today, I would just like say thank you for giving me the chance to experience what I am most thankful for at this time of the year: being able to spend time with members and friends of our Covenant House community,” said Bruce J. Henry.
