August 4, 2006 -- Queens Community Center Hosts their Annual Fair
All summer long our Community Resource Centers, located in each of the boroughs, have hosted summer fairs to show our dedication and appreciation for the communities we serve. Today the Queens Community Center hosted a wonderful day of games, food, prizes, music, and laughter at the Jamaica Queens Park. The fair was kicked off with a visit from the borough president, Helen Marshall.
Covenant House also invited other organizations to set up tables so they could educate the public on their services as well. Representatives from the Navy, Army, Intercommunity, Fidelis Health, and others, came out to show our communities the various ways they can help out the community members as well. Queens locals of all ages, along with our staff, had plenty to see and enjoy. A special favorite to see was own staff member (and face-painter) decorate the faces of the smiling kids around the park.
