June 24, 2005 -- CHNY Board Memers Host Reception
On June 16th, Covenant House New York Board Members held a reception introducing Covenant House to some prominent New Yorkers. In addition to hearing Stephanie's personal story, a resident of Covenant House New York, the attendees were given a tour of the facilities, which included visiting residential floors, the donated clothing room, the on-site clinic as well as the kitchen where they had the opportunity to witness a cooking demonstration by youth enrolled in our culinary arts program. As expressed by one attendee "It was an enlightening experience. I had no idea of the scope of services that Covenant House New York provides these at-risk and homeless youth in helping them become independent, self-sufficient adults."
